What this stack is:
I wrote this little stack one day when I realized there were no good stacks
out there to enter a movie library into. So 'A Guide to the Movies' was born.
System Requirements:
Macintosh Plus, SE, //, SE/30, //cx, or //x
System 6.0.2 or later
Hypercard 1.2 or later - This stack will NOT run on earlier versions.
Imagewriter II or Laserwriter for printing capabilities
This stack was developed on a 16mhz SE w/2.5 MB Ram but should run on 1MB
machines since the painting and scripting tools are turned off.
A little help:
You can add as many cards as you like with the "New Card" button as long as
you have the disk space to hold it. I've put no limitations on this.
Use the Laserwriter Icon to print a report of your stack. The Command P
also will work to print the stack.
I entered four prominent movie critic's name in four of the five boxes.
The four entered are the most widely known. Their books can be found in almost
all bookstores under 'Performing Arts'. The last box is for your rating.
Future versions will explain the critic's rating scale.
The Message Box (Command M) has been disabled. There is no access to it.
So don't go crazy trying to get it to come up.
There is one invisible button that will pop up a password dialog. This is
for my editing purposes only. Once I learn a little more about Hypercard, this
will disappear in a future version.
A word about distribution:
This stack is "Cardware". It is not free nor is it in the public domain.
If you like this stack and use it past 30 days, you must send a postcard to the
above address. Otherwise, I'll be forced to send my cat out who will proceed
to shred up your system. (Like he's done mine!)
It may be distributed by online services (i.e. GEnie or CompuServe), by
UserGroups or via disk to disk, as long as this file is included in the '.sit'
archive. This stack may NOT be distributed by any mail order company. (i.e.
Educorp). Educorp and like companies' policies of charging 7-10 dollars a disk
for 'Non-Profit' software is out of line. Please see Mark Chally's letters on
GEnie for more about Educorp.
This is my first stack so please send let me know your comments good and
bad! And please support 'Cardware'!
